CALLED BY NAME

Helping children draw nearer to God

What is the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd like...

...for a church leader?

Imagine feeling confident and excited about catechesis in your parish, knowing that the kerygma is proclaimed, and that it feeds both the children and the adults involved. You can have confidence that this method gets to the core of the faith in a way that children can embrace. You can have confidence that this is time-tested and is faithful to the teachings of the Church.

What is Catechesis of the Good Shepherd like for a child?

Imagine a room prepared just for you. Everything is the right size, easy for you to use by yourself. What you do here is important. There is a dignity in choosing how you will respond to God’s Word. The materials are beautiful, inviting you to deepen your relationship with Jesus through the work of your hands. It is so much more than crafts and colouring sheets.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Christian Ministry
  • for children aged 3-12 years
  • based on the Bible and Liturgy of the Church
  • inspired by the principles of Montessori education

This Ministry provides:
  • an opportunity for children to fall in love with Jesus, the Good Shepherd, in a child-friendly space called an atrium, located in a home, church, or school.

  • guided activity to aid meditation on Scripture and the mysteries of the Christian faith once a week in small groups, facilitated by trained adults (catechists).
